Recently I made Lavender Lemonade and it was a major hit with my family and friends. Such a refreshing drink during this hot weather. Now, I have to keep it on hand all the time. Thought I would share the recipe with you all.
Makes 10 servings
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup dried lavender buds
- 2 cups fresh lemon juice (about 10 lemons)
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4 limes)
In a large saucepan, bring one gallon of water and the sugar to a boil. Remove from heat, and add 1/4 cup of lavender buds along with the lemon juice and lime juice in the pot.
Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then strain and chill. Store in your favorite serving pitcher or large mason jars.
Once the lemonade is chilled, serve on with or without ice in your favorite glassware and add the additional sprigs of lavender for garnish if you’d like. For a great adult drink, add a little gin to it.

I’ve been doing a shit job of keeping this blog updated but with good reason. Life is hard and being busy is an understatement right now. To quote Heathers, “real life sucks losers dry…”
There are so many adventures from the past month to be shared; photos, book reads, music I’m digging, films I’ve seen and more!
Alright, I know I am late to posting about Anton Yelchin, but that is because this has weighed heavy on my heart since I heard the news. I never knew Anton personally but I always thought he was an amazing actor destined to go on to do more amazing work. His aura made him seem like the guy you could go to hangout with— eat a bunch of snacks, drink capri sun’s and be complete insomniacs talking about the universe. Anton, you’ll be missed dearly and you’ve made an impact on my life. Until then, see you in another life brother.
This post is a bit overdue but this month I saw the band MOTHXR. I’ve digging on their music for a little while now and I was excited to finally see them live. I’m always in the wrong place at the wrong time and kept missing them.
I’ll spare you all my ravings of their show but trust, if they are playing in your city check them out. Vibey jams, great live and just overall rad guys.
Also, yes, that’s Penn Badgley from ‘Gossip Girl’ but that shouldn’t be the only reason you should see them play. Listen to their music, go to the show, sing and most importantly DANCE!! Have fun. Even as a photographer, I find it hard to not want to document a show (or pretty much everything!) but it was a blessing and a curse that the lighting was so awful at the venue they played. It forced me to put away my phone and my SLR and just get into the groove (um yeah, that might have been a Madonna reference).
Here are a couple of my favorite songs by MOXTHR. I’m a sucker for a good synth and jangly guitar breakdown.
I’m looking forward to seeing these guys again in the future and to develop film that has a few shots from the show.
I am a bit late to the game on reading this book, but decided to give it a go. Join in with me, if you want to and let’s discuss! If you have already read this book, them me what you think in the comments.
And since I can never just read one book at a time, my side read is this following:
